Back in Haverhill and a new look!!
Due to some not so minor technical difficulties with the theme I was using, my blog has a brand new look! One that I will continue to edit for the next coupled weeks.
I’ve also moved back to Haverhill (the current header photo), and got to see my friends in family in the Boston area which was great! I’ll be around for the next three weeks or so with only a camping trip and a trip to NYC planned.
I was also greeted by a pile of boxes in my room filled with new toys! It was just like Christmas……except all of the new toys also had charges on my credit card….
I bought a new laptop for grad school, and a new version of office to go with it. The screen of my last laptop had an unfortunate run in with a floor. It’s not the most expensive laptop, but the specs are good and so far it runs amazingly. It’s an ACER Aspire TimelineX 4830TG-6457. Unfortunately, if Windows 8 is the future of Windows I think this might be the last computer I buy with Microsoft’s OS, which is unfortunate. I tried their release preview and hated it, but try it out for yourself…just make sure you know what you’re doing first. Installing a pre-release operating system without knowing what you’re doing is a pretty good way to brick your computer and lose all your data.
The other purchase I made was a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I am officially addicted to smart phones, so I wanted one I could take along with me without having to worry about changing carriers all the time. Buying it through the Google Play Store is an amazing deal for an unlocked phone. Since I don’t have service for it yet I haven’t played around with it too much, but so far it’s really cool, really fast, and Google Now is amazing!
The post I promised almost two weeks ago is still coming….I just haven’t started it yet. The two papers I was going to base it on are still in a box somewhere, but it’s coming I promise. Also, the site might be under construction off and on for a little bit while I rework the static page navigation.
Give me suggestions on what else I should add/change!
