Summer in Ithaca!
Well, it’s been almost two months since my last posting to AaronAbroad.net, but I’m back with about 2 months to go until departure. It’s been a pretty uneventful two months with a few exceptions. I got a chance to hang out with some of the Cornell graduating seniors and Masters students during senior week, checking swimming in the Ithaca gorges off my bucket list in the process! Congrats to the Cornell University graduating class of 2012!!
I meant to make a post about this sooner, but the last couple weeks have been really busy. I’ve moved into a new apartment, and I went home to Boston to take care of the first of a bunch of pre-departure doctor’s appointments and attend cousin’s first birthday! It was nice to go home for a little while, but also exhausting trying to see everyone in one weekend. I flew back to Ithaca this past Tuesday, which was probably the last time I’ll be in the Ithaca airport for a while.
I’ve got a little over one month left in Ithaca, which will be the longest summer I’ve spent here. Last year I stayed after graduation until my lease ran out and attended Reunion Zero, but that ended on June 14th. Everyone I’ve talked to who has stayed in Ithaca over the summer says it was a lot of fun, and really different from when school is in session. I’m excited to explore areas of Ithaca I haven’t seen before!
Unfortunately though, that will have to wait for another day. Even though I technically moved all my stuff into the new apartment at the end of May I’ve been too busy to unpack. So this weekend is devoted to the exhilarating pass time of cleaning and unpacking. Fortunately, I won’t need to unpack everything, I’ll be leaving Ithaca to go back to Haverhill in about a month.
I’m predicting that the rest of the summer will be pretty uneventful. I hope to make a quick trip to NYC before I head off for Budapest, and I’ll definitely have a few more posts before the end of summer. But for now, it’s back to cleaning and packing. this weekend is Reunion again, and if I finish most of the cleaning today I’m sure I can run into more than a few alumni at Dunbars tonight.

Texas should be your final destination at the end of your trip.

I don’t think I’ll make it this summer…too much stuff to buy too little money. The AMS is in Austin this year, though. I’ll make it at some point!
